Westworld Season 2 - noncore post

In honor of the new season of Westworld, I thought I’d share this article. Respond in the comments if you are a Midwesterner* who feels personally attacked by this content.

*Full disclosure: I am not from the Midwest

  1. So I am from the Midwest (suburbs of Chicago, Illinois) and I DO feel personally attacked. First of all, the in-state tuition is NOT that low. And don't knock Kohls, Wendy's, or Super Target.

Actually, since we screened the Westworld pilot in class, I have started watching the show. I am not fully finished with season 1, but am very much excited to star binge watching season 2 (maybe once these papers get written - could use a host's help with that). That all said, I do actually think the midwest certainly has its own tone that works for genre. Think Family Matters, The Drew Carey Show, Malcolm in the Middle, ER, The League, Married with Children, Mike and Molly, The Middle, Parks and Rec, Stranger Things, Supernatural, Fargo, Family Ties, Melissa and Joey, Glee... just to name a few! I think location is an interesting aspect to genre in television. Something I am going to continue to ponder more!
