In case anyone's interested, the Roseanne reboot starts tomorrow. I don't suspect it will be complex, "quality" television, but I do think it will be interesting and relevant to much of what we've been discussing in class.
I find the whole idea of rebooting the show providing me with conflicting emotions. For one, I'm interested to see how they deal with the fact that only one member in the family is a Trump supporter (Roseanne's character apparently) and on the other hand I can't bring myself to watch a show where the shows main star has said and supported such horrible views and behavior.
ReplyDeleteI found an opinion piece from the New York Times as well that I think does a pretty good job (from the writers perspective) dealing with the conflicting influence this show has had (the author themselves saw the first 2 episodes but discontinued):
